Look pretty nice for the price, but what's up with the HUUUGE open end side? I would've bought them, but that turned me off. Pretty tight access on alot of stuff we work on. How do y'all compare these bulky wrenches to Kobalts?

IF I remember correctly, the Kobalt's are made in Taiwan, while the Husky's are made in China. They really aren't much different than the new Craftsmans and with the same warranty, might as well save some money. Additionally the Husky's don't skip sizes, while the Kobalts do.

For the price point I would consider them over the India made HF, or the Craftsmans. The Kobalts are a tougher choice and if they didn't skip sizes, that's what I'd go with.

The one Husky wrench I have is 22mm, and has the lobster claw type open end. Space hasn't been an issue for me, but I end up busting that out on a lot of front end (steering/suspension) parts.

I hate these lobster claw wrenches myself. I just picked up a set of the GearWrench's that AAP has for 1/2 price, and the 8mm has the same type claw. The others are fine, the 8mm just makes me cringe.

I've been quite curious on these Husky wrenches as well. I need a 15/16" wrench and to buy a Kobalt is $16 where as the Husky is $5. Huge difference there! considering the one use I need it for is a low torque application, Husky is where I'm going but why so much cheaper than cman/kobalt???

I've got a few Gearwrench sets. Use em daily, especially the swivel wrenches. I don't mind Chinese made as long as the quality is decent. The finish on the polished Kobalts & Huskys look pretty good, especially when you compare them to Harbor Freight wrenches.

Solution . . . . Garage sale . . . Craftsman raised panel . . Got one about a month or two ago for $0.50 - - - - this was old -v- version Made in USA.

Above posters are right, that the new Chicom Cman RP combo wrenches are huuuuuge on the open end. . . (lobster claw deluxe) that I will avoid from now on.

Stop eating for 6 months and you can buy a set.

Right and that's what OP was wanting to do. :willy_nil

You also forgot to mention that OP can't possibly use a Craftsman raised panel wrench, as it will "hurt" his hands !! LOL . . . . . :lol_hitti:

The lobster claw is the new thing with imported wrenches. Still unknown exactly why - either the metal ***** so they needed to beef it up, or maybe some genius in the marketing department thought a bigger open end would make them look more durable. Either way, if you have to buy cheap and imported, why not buy them as cheap as possible? Go to HF, I think their wrenches have a normal sized head.

I've had no issue with my HF junkyard wrenches, but they do skip sizes. I filled in the missing wrenches with some ProValue wrenches off ebay. If the Huskys were available when I needed wrenches I would have bought them over the HF wrenches.
