Do you use it or just look at it? Do that at my shop and you'd get laughed into oblivion. Lol

Just don't start waxing your tools and you'll be OK.

Nothing wrong with keeping your gear tip top that's for sure. I can imagine how awesome it would be to score a box like that thats been very well looked after, say in about 30 years from now.

Must be frikin weird to work at a shop where people don't take care of their investment. Do these same guys wash and wax their car, or is that ridiculous too?

OP....that box looks great. Mr. Miagi Style or machine?

I think I am the only one who does anything to their box too. I put opticoat 2.0 on my 3 when I got them, now it's just wipe downs with quick detailer.

Pretty don't get the job done, we're you on the clock when you waxed that thing?

Guess it all depends on your job, I am a maintainence man in a 100,000 foot robotic weld shop, stuff gets banged up, to obsess to the level of waxing a box would be frowned upon and in fact if done so on the clock would probably get you written up. There is always something to do.

To each there own, but as I said, to do that in my shop would get you laughed out of the place.

My experience is in no way lessening yours, if you can do it, go for it! I like pretty things too.

Clean keeps things working smoothly. Time is money. Most boxes can be "prettied up" in 5 minutes. Brake time or whatever. Lol

I doubt very much he waxed that box in 5 minutes. Like I said, we all wipe our boxes down, I cleaned mine off yesterday before clocking out and yes that was less than 5 minutes and no one would say a thing to you about that, but betting that took a good hour to wax that entire box.

I'm just a retired home owner with plenty of time so I wax my Snap-on box and all the Craftsman tools in it, including each socket. I think it makes them easier to clean and prevents any rust.

I see nothing wrong with waxing a tool box. It is a big investment and most like to keep them looking nice. Yes, it is a tool, but like vehicles, some keep them up, and others just drive them. I wax my tool box, but then again I wax my tractor also..

I am a homeowner and have and very rarely still do wax my boxes. My Kennedy's I don't because of the wrinkle finish, my painted craftsman I did when brand new, my stainless box I wiped down with WD40. Looks nice OP. :)

No two jobs are the same and in mine I can have 4-5 hrs with little to nuthin to do...
But can (and usually is) followed by 4-5 hrs of barely having time to take a sip of water. During some of the slack times my KLR1023 has gotten waxed, cleaned up, and drawers lubed. I paid enough for it and yes it is a toolbox, and yes it gets used. But...i do and will continue to keep it in as good condition as possible.

To the OP. Looks great!

Tool boxes and cars are expensive items that should be well maintained.. Your tool box and work area CAN be used as a gauge of your professional character... Neat and well organized is good,, waxed and polished shows you tend to details and take pride in your equipment.....that is a plus.

Whatever you do; don't ever get caught using Turtle Wax on a VW Rabbit,,, people WILL think you are nuts..

I never realized there were people more **** than me, you guys seriously make me feel a lot better. People think I am weird for having organized, perfectly laid out boxes that I spray down and wipe off every Friday. Now you guys wax things? Seriously, totally other level, thanks! LOL

If you want to do it, more power to you, just can't imagine getting away with it on the clock, anyone would be handed a stack of work orders of odd jobs if they had that kind of time on their hands.

Ya, waxing a tool box while on the clock would raise a few eyebrows,,

but many repair shops are run under straight commission.. You are required to keep your assigned work bay clean and orderly,, any time used other than maintaining your work bay and performing your vehicle repairs is for the technician to use as they choose..

Nothing wrong with protecting your investment. I don't have time to wax my box very often but I spray lemon pledge on it at least once a week. Looks good and has a lemony fresh scent

For the record here for those who don't know; wax isn't just for appearance. It also protects the paint, and makes it a lot easier to clean in the future. I can basically
Just use my air gun and spray it clean now.

Also, a good wax, like the one I used, will last for years on a box like this that is always indoors. I waxed my box, and I won't have to wax it again for 4-5 more years.

Looks great to me! On another note, I waxed my new USA made Eagle (5) Gallon gas can today. Not sure why, just seemed like the right thing to do.

I think the euphemism everyone is getting at is going right over your head... this is not about a toolbox. LOL
