16x16x24 box, 1/4 inch plate, 6 inch chimney.
Made for a couple I fish with. They were married in '72.
Yes it's way, way too thick, but it's what they wanted and provided the steel.

Door handle from a chipping hammer.

Been making this pattern for a while. Always works well, even when old and rusty. The angled latch makes sure the door gets pulled in tight and seals well. Always make the door bigger than the opening (don't reuse the cut out piece).

Also, make the slider able to full pull out to help with cleaning out schmoo and such. Two nuts welded to the door provide a bushing, while a smaller bolt and nut provide the pivot, easy to adjust to the right tension then weld the latch on, close the door then weld the handle on where you want it.

I always build the front first complete with door so I have access to weld both sides. I've also left the top off for last again for access to inside while figuring out the latch.

Nice work on the wood stove. No ice fishing for me yet. Global warming.

Wow! Great job! I went ice fishing with a friend when I was in college. It amazed me how warm we were with just a little fire box in the shack.

Fantastic exterior detailing! What's that big horizontal mill in the back? Cincinnati?

What kind of plasma are you running?

Peking Machine Works Peoples Republic of China, built in 1990, weighs 8500 lbs. I still haven't wired in in.

Read about it here:

Plasma was a friend's Miller 40-something. Couldn't do 1/4 inch plugged in to a house receptacle, had to plug it in to the welder outlet.

Fice Nuckin' work, Muckin' Slusher!
I've built a few small stoves (for wall tents, not ice houses) but like your damper design better.

Damper design is awesome, super nice to be able to tap it out with an axe if it ever gets rusted in, then you can clean the tracks and even use the axe edge to pry the tracks out a bit for more looseness.
