I bought the SAE set today with 25% off coupon to compliment my metric Snap-On set. I was a little dissapointed at the lack of knurling on the SAE sets(shallow, semi-deep, and deep) while all the metric have knurling. I wonder what that is all about.
metric has he light knurl, sae has groove.
it done for identification . not best idea but that what get when copy rather than think/innovate a bit ...

Curious how these Icon mids have been holding up for you guys that have been using them the last few months?

Maybe a set of SAE in 1/2” drive if I ever decide I need them (in lieu of full deep shallow sets, which I definitely don’t need).

A set of mid-length 1/2” drive metric impacts might have been the ticket for my needs. Not sure I actually need full standard and deep sets.

Ought them 3 weeks after they came out. Have used them daily since instead of deeps and they work great. Haven’t seen any issues with them. Nice tight fit on bolts.
Thanks thats what I was needing. For the price I figure I will give a set a try.

Wait for a coupon deal make them better value buy.
lad in my shop using them with no complaints or problems, they look/fit fine, Taiwan seems make some pretty good sockets and with the icon warranty you likely get replacements/credit as you desire if have issues/don't like them .
Biggest issue you got with ICON is they simply copying snapon visual design with zero thought on easy improvements, add in Taiwan habit of skipped sizes and HF choice of no singles in the shop limits the tool range appeal .

My intent is to use the set in a road box, in combination with a set of 1/4” kids from gearwrench, I’ve been using a set of snappy deeps in one and don’t find that I always need a full deep socket. I like the idea of being able to run by a store and swap one that might get damaged too.
