A lot of the Icon stuff hit the website today, but the tools are still hidden. The boxes are viewable if you search for "Icon," or if you navigate to the "Tool Storage" section of the website. To view the tools, you have to know the product numbers. Here are direct links (and prices) to all the pages I could find for now - I'll update this post as I find more. I'm disappointed about the reversible ratcheting wrench pricing, I was looking forward to picking up a set, but I'll probably pass at that $150 price.

Also, I stopped at the closest store to me that was listed as an "Icon store" in the Icon Catalog/Store List, and sure enough they had the whole tool box set up. I explored it for a few minutes, and I can tell you that this box isn't something I would plunk down thousands of dollars for - the U.S. General boxes are a fantastic value at the current price points (moreso with coupons), and there's not enough extra stuff on the Icon box for me to spend quadruple the price.

The ratcheting reversible box wrenches look very much like KABO to me. They have the same reversing switch that the DeWalt reversing ratcheting wrenches do (that I bought for a song) and those are certainly KABO.

I saw a new screwdriver set peg hook labeled heavy duty screwdriver set and 24.99. Forgot the item number but it didn't exist on the HF site. Says compare to Milwaukee at 39.99. Didn't have a brand either. Has anyone seen this set yet?
Remembered the part number 64862. Had the guy at HF look it up. they are doyle branded. It's in their system. but not on the website.

This prices on the combo wrenches look ok. It's close to or better than Carlyle sale prices on their combo wrenches.

Maybe someone else brought this up and I missed that, but did anyone notice that HF didn't release any extensions, adapters, u-joints, etc. to go along with the new sockets and ratchets? I assume they will down the road, but it seems like that is something that would have been good to release at the same time as the socket sets.

Most the tool prices are ok, not good, not bad. I'm still probably going to buy a few things mostly for the knock off Snap on trays.

New tool box video

Damn, I need to get back on youtube if 48k subscribers is enough to receive thousands of dollars for stuff for free

Are the ratcheting wrenches longer than Snap-on's ?

Yes.
SIZE: SNAPON: ICON:
10mm 7.03------- 7.5
13mm 8.69------- 9.375
15mm 9.8-------- 10.875
17mm 10.89----- 12.375
19mm 12.00----- 13.75

Although the ICON ratcheting wrenches do not have anti slip open ends at this point, they are some of the nicest ratcheting wrenches i've purchased. They might be too long for some applications. Now, it's a matter of seeing how they hold up.

I saw the flyer online last night and then found that only 2 stores are listed for Washington State and the 2 are remote stores one is in Port Angeles out by the northwestern most tip of the state across the Puget Sound from Seattle and the 2nd is in Walla Walla in the south eastern part of the state. Who the heck does that remote stores and a large population around Seattle is totally ignored. C'mon Harbor Freight get a Seattle area store that folks can see and the tools

checked my local store and nothing yet.

Only a lone breaker bar still locally. Nothing else here. I’m underwhelmed by the prices. The ratchets look like the best deal. It looks like the old Duralast stuff. From the pics the combination wrenches don’t look any better than the 22 piece companion set I got years ago at Sears for $8 other than having more sizes.

I plan on picking up a set of the metric reversible ratcheting wrenches for sure. It would be nice to have a set of those that’s easy to warranty locally vs Gearwrench. The standard wrench sets don’t impress me and I’d still rather have Tekton over them, for a much lower price as well. Maybe pick up a 3/8 metric socket set as well.

Same thing in Utah. One in Vernal, which I understand because it is a large natural resource production area with mining and oilfield. And one in Cedar City.

What about where the large majority of the population lives?

Also noticed not a single store for Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, North Dakota, or South Dakota.

How would a warranty replacement be an easy thing? They surely wont carry open stock on these. They probably wont allow a new set to be broken up to just replace one wrench, the price point of these tools will probably keep that from happening. The only way I see them warranting a wrench would be if you brought in the whole set and even then I don't see them breaking up a set for 1 wrench. It is probably going to be an online type thing which is basically the same as everyone else.

They break up sets all the time. Then they put the partial set on the clearance shelf.

I'd think they'd treat their premium customers at least that well.

I'm aware that they break sets up but I can't see them doing this to these wrenches. They are treating this line like its gold. Closed boxes that hold the ratchets preventing you to be able to actually see what your buying. These wrench sets, even if they are broken up will not be next to the broken up $8 screwdriver set on the clearance shelf. I just don't see this happening. This line up is all about perception. They have to be perceived to be top quality and handled as such or nobody will pay these prices. An incomplete wrench set on the clearance shelf goes against that.

They already stated single warranty not handled by a store will be by them mailing you replacement to work or home address .

Thanks. That what I thought would happen. Thinking of getting the metric set but wanted to make sure how things would be handled in case of a broken wrench. The fact that I have 3 stores near me doesn't really matter as far as warranty goes unless they take the broken tool at a local store and have a new one sent to you.

What???? So the Icon line is a lot of talk about nothing. Perfect Taiwan tools for the homeowner from a discount tool importer.

Basically sockets sets and ratchets along with some wrenches and nothing much else

Updated post #401 to add a few more wrench sets I found, and clarify whether the wrench sets had regular open ends or "anti-slip grip" open ends.

Thanks for this! I'm disappointed by the "anti-slip grip" on the open ends of the ratcheting wrenches, I prefer the "6-point" style of anti-slip to the unusual ends (do they look like they're just a poorly cut end to anyone else, or just me?)

I've gotta say though, the sockets look good. The pricetag feels steep though, considering that one could buy a decent set of (new) sockets in shallow and deep for what they're asking for just shallow.

Not awful, with coupons they'll be more attractive I'm sure, but I don't think I'm part of the target market here. I could be swayed if they'd bring the ICON tools to my local store, but I need to be able to check them out in person first.

Glad to share! I did find sets of "non anti-slip grip" ratcheting wrenches and added them to the post. They are priced same as the anti-slip grip versions, which I find interesting...

*Edit* Sorry, I misread your post - just realized you were disappointed in the style of the anti-slip grip...

Yeah, I won't say I have any idea if the ICON style non-slip open end is a better design or not, it's just not what I'm used to seeing on an open end and in my mind, doesn't make sense.

If this style is featured elsewhere and someone wants to chime in, I'll always appreciate being more informed.

Which kind of defeats the purpose. Doesnt make them any more attractive over Tekton. I need a set of deep SAE 1/4" and 3/8" sockets and will probably just stick with Tekton.

Does that apply to the tools, or just the boxes? The way I read it, it just applied to the boxes, because the logistics of a store stocking box spare parts/replacement parts would be unfeasible.

Pretty sure they'll warranty the tools themselves in the store, directly.

What I was told was tools not available as single replacement in your store will be done via mail.
What they actually going hold in every shop as single I don't know but looking at packaging and taking a guess at how they buying it from oems don't look to me like lot of it going be singles hanging on tags from displays .
I guess no one really knows for sure how will evolve but ideally if aiming at pro use singles be best not just from warranty perspective .
Not overly bothered either way but interesting see how it turns out after the hype, I just see icon as another option for few of the better taiwan offerings that just going be easier for some people get .
HF been piss poor on spares and stocking singles since day 1 so my expectations of getting it right with icon are low .

The mail in warranty isn't an issue for me since I don't make a living turning a wrench, and in 40 years of restoring cars, I've broken exactly TWO tools. An 8mm Kobalt wrench on a Porsche gearbox detent (installed by Hans the Gorilla), and a Snap On 3/8" long ratchet.

Interestingly, the 8mm was being abused with a cheater pipe, but the Snap on just busted in normal use. In both cases, I had other tools that could be used until I warranteed them.

LOL I busted a Snap-On short ratchet one time in normal use. (No Cheta pipe) I guess you call it the anvil, like on an Impact. (Where the socket goes on)
Brought it used from the snap on man, (actually it was a repo, or trade in or something) at the 1st shop In Ohio Valley I worked at.
Broke it at the 2nd shop I was at in the Valley, (but we didn't have a Snap on man at all) But I was on my way home, and A Snap On man was at another shop near home, and I asked him about it, (don't think he asked where I got it) anyways, he had a kit on the truck, and repaired it for me on the spot. He was real nice about it too!

Looks to be a typo, as one of their big marketing pitches (even on that exact page) is "no skip sizing." There's a bunch of stuff they have to clean up on the pages - mislabled products, wrong images, typos...

Okay thanks, I kinda figured that. Last week when I stopped in the store in town they had the Icon breaker bars and that was it, just figured I'd ask where there are people that have seen them in person.
