I watched a video on YouTube from a guy who reviewed some Icon 3/8” Drive sockets. The chrome was “bubbling” and the drive end was marred. He claimed that he didn’t use it on an impact.
I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, but I’ve already used the 10, 13, 15, 17, 18 and 19mm sockets from the set to do brake jobs on two vehicles (one with a frozen rear caliper) and replace a control arm. I had them things on breakers bars and ratchet, pulling until I gave up. Dropped on the concrete and everything... mine are doing just fine.
I don’t see anyone else complaining but that one guy. Dude needs a better camera to film his videos. You could barely see what he was complaining about. I call ********.
And so f’n what if a few ratchets were recalled? At least they caught the problem and offered a reasonable solution... and they’re fixing it. Icon is still too new to give real world reviews/comparisons on, sorry. It just appears to me that the Snap On fan boys don’t like Harbor Freights marketing tactics and will stop at nothing to protect the brand. That’s fine, but most of us see right through your ******** just like you see through Harbor Freight’s.
There isn’t a damn thing wrong with those sockets.
