Today i finally stoped by harbor freight to put hands on some Icon tools. Well i really like the wrenches they are offering. I forgot to look and verify if they are Taiwan made but i assume so. Anyway for a weekend warrior would there be a significant reason, other than you don’t like non USA made tools, for me not to get a set?

I would think price would deter you. They seem really expensive to me. I bought an Icon ratchet to try and it was just ok. I don't know if it was worth the price compared to similar items elsewhere in the store.

Would wait for a coupon. Then the ratcheting set would be $120 ish, which is actually in line or cheaper than the gearwrench set i was looking at.

I think the Icon wrenches are pretty nice. I think they're made by Infar or Kabo depending on if we're talking ratcheting or non ratcheting wrenches. I still don't like it that they don't offer open stock though. Icon tool coupons are like trying to find a unicorn lately. they have storage coupons but, not for the tools.

Never tried them but a hundred dollars for a quality set isnt to bad imo. As a ********* DIY guy I like the carlyle and tekton stuff

The long double box end flex and non flex are kabo the combo reversible and combo flex I wouldn't like say, it doesn't look like infar as mechanism differs and flex joint use hot pressed pin rather than cap bolt.
Standard wrenches seem likely be infar .
reversible long combo proving good for me in daily use and with a coupon fair price for usable warranty and i sure i likely use that on tools like this.
I not over keen on taiwan wrenches for open end performance and prefer main set of combo wrenches german or usa .
also icon for taiwan non ratcheting wrenches not that great a price and you want look at other taiwan offerings from carlyle, channellock, dewalt, capri, toptul .
Even wright and stahlwille combo wrench sets not far off price of ICON ones if hunt around & spending bit more or at least being picky on what choose can be big benefit in what you achieve from the wrenches over the years .

Idk. The Tekton combination wrenches are 80 for the 6-24 set where the Icon are 99 for 6-19. Seems like the Tekton beats the pants off the Icon for the money...at least on that particular item. You’d have to go through and compare like for like on tools but idk, it’s up to you.
