I've had an unmarked flip socket in 1/2 X 9/16 (3/8 drive) for a while now. It makes a good socket for the bone yards, as I know I have two of the most common sizes, for SAE in one.

Absolutely no makings on it whatsoever.

It does have that spring band that is a keeper for a ball detent that goes to the inside :wtf: Like I said different.

I'd love to have the same in say, 10/12 MM (which should still fit the 3/8 extension) as those are by far the most common metric sizes I use.

Also, as a matter of reference, that Matco knurled extension is the only extension I own the will fit this guy, the others all interfere at the socket shoulder. (Craftsman, Snap On, Thornsen)

Since the Matco fits, is it possibly Matco? :dunno:

Look like a old "Blackhawk" brand socket. I had a like one and the Blackhawk labeling was hard to see under the patina and black oxide finish. Almost had to catch the light right to see it.

I've actually had it under a good magnifying glass, and the lathe marks are still clear on it, with no sign os any markings. one small pinhead sized spot on he lathe marks from something (a hit?) but nothing else.

I was hoping someone might recognize the tensioner band for the internal detent ball.

i was thinking about that, and had the thought that it was a release for a locking pin style extension. (Impact) I have one of those in 1/2 drive (Industro)
