I picked up this 10 inch bandsaw today. There isnt tag on it anywhere. Its heavy solid cast, the wheels are 10 x 7/8. thats all the info i really have on it . Ill add some pictures. Maybe someone recognizes the factory color. The only markings I see are '875 rpm' on the back.

I believe it's a Sprunger bandsaw. I bought one through Monkey Ward in the mid 1970's.

Ive never heard of that company before. but after a quick google I can see some very similar ones, just mine doesnt have the embossed SPRUNGER on the top wheel cover. mine may have been replaced at some time though. its just a basic piece of flat sheet metal with 2 screw holes.

Thanks for the reply!

My Sprunger was a 14" saw, and it worked great. It could be that on the 10" saw, Sprunger didn't use a cast cover, but took a less expensive way out and used sheet metal.

I have the same machine, there are some differences from a Srunger, the top wheel is attached to the casting, not a L shaped arm from the base unit.

Hi,

New member here. I have the same machine also -- purchased last week in Ottawa, ON Canada. No manufacturer's markings anywhere. Came with a 1/4 HP GE motor. Like bnsmith said, the base and upper wheel housing are one complete casting, so it seems fairly heavy for a 10" band saw. The blade side guides on mine are short brass or bronze rods; don't know if this is original or not. The lower side guide is just a single adjustable rod with a slot in it. Seems like a very nice and solid saw. I'm waiting on a new Oilite bushing for the upper wheel to arrive before I try it out.

Cheers
