I picked this up yesterday as a give away. I'm trying to figure out what it may have looked like. Its very rusty and I don't think that is worth some big restoration, but I might knock of the rust and paint it. I'm more curious as to who might have made it and when it was made. Its been painted a few times in its life. No lables and I can't see any stamps. It has a removable top tool tray (which is galvanized) and has a socket compartment. So, I'm thinking it for automotive tools more than a machinist box. The drawers rest on steel shelfs -- no slides. The cover is hinged and folds down over the drawers and has a simple latch that goes through an eye where you could put a lock (this part is broken and mostly rusted off).

Anyway, I know its a longshot. The drawers seem to be unique and I don't think its a big dollar box. I'm thinking 20s or 30s. Thanks for any thoughts.

jacked,

I am in the process of digitizing the Cornwell Catalog 23 from 1946. Page 84 has your box on it. It is a Cornwell SK20 Master Toolbox. I will circle back around and attach a screenshot. It appears in the 1941 catalog, but the drawer pulls are different and the removable tray doesn't appear to be in the sketch.

Here you go. Quite the coincidence actually. I wasn't looking for it but recognized it by your box when I scanned this page today.

I find the description funny, I guess they were REALLY PROUD of their own designed box! HA!
