This came in an auction lot, mostly machining tools, but some automotive parts. Length is about 5", width 1.5", the resistor measures 0.3 ohms or less. The two halves are separated by an insulator with a metal shorting strap between them.

Dang, and I was gonna say shunt for an automotive tester.

My newer (1970s) cheaper one has it built in I think.
