Looks like an older Volvo to me. No idea what year. Possibly late 60s, early 70s.

Edit: Looking more at Google images it looks like a late 60s Volvo 122 to me.

Could be a late 50's Ford Consul. I'm not sure they were actually imported into the US. This one looks like it was hot-rodded with some 70's vintage parts.

What do I win? :bounce:

Thanks for all the help guys. I think it is a 50's Willys aero sedan it seems to match up perfect. Tail lights and the split windshield. The quarters seem to be cut out and the flairs added.

Looks like it has the 'Fred Flintstone' floorboard mod, too. I don't think Volvo, not sure if any of the older Volvos had 5-lug wheels. It's been heavily-modded, though, diamond padded doorpanels, aftermarket A/C, Mustang-like automatic floor shifter, and **** carpeting all over.

Should clean up well. :lol_hitti

Wow. Amazing what the elements will do to a car.
Is that an A/C unit on the dash?

It is not a Ford Consul. Shifter looks Ford like Ford Mustang. It does look English. Vauxhall or similar, headlights and tail lights are to bulky for Consul and look more GM in design and I would also say Volvo as GM designed many Vauxhall and Volvo.

The place you found it (do not be specific) would help ID it better. Given members on this forum are all over the world.

Edited note: As it has been modified in some way with Ford parts we need more information.

the roof line looks like an old ford mk1 zephyr, with possibly chopped back/ modified rear wheel arches, but they didnt have split screen windows though

Not a Volvo 122 series, dashboard cutout for speedo is wrong AND rear of roof is wrong. Volvos did have the 5x4.5 wheels, and I found that rambler rims of the same period fit perfectly.

Now, could it be a Peugot 404?

not a pug, they didnt have a split screen and the c-pillar shape is quite different

to be honest we need more pics with some of the **** brushed off it, a pic of the rear and front end would help massively

Definitely a Willys Aero coupe. It has a front-hinged hood, a very basic dash layout, and that very unique bump on the rear quarter panel. That would make a fine hot rod!!!

Willys, OK not a model we got to see here in Australia. If we did I have not seen one. You have to admit it has been modified so not easy to work given the modifications.

Yup, that bump on the rear quarter is a clincher for sure. I didn't even see that with all of the pine needles on it.

I love these kinds of threads.

I'm going to second the Willy's Aero

Because of the thickness of the C pillar I guess a 1952 model
+1:thumbup:

I think your going to find the dash is scalloped around the speedo once you pull that cover off as I think that's a custom cover job. Certainly has to be pre '54 just based on the dash alone. IMO

Willys Aero seems to be the most logical. But I can't find any pictures indicating that they had a two-piece windshield. I have been to hundreds of car shows over the years and I have to admit... I have never seen one of these around.

You van eliminate Hillmans, Singers, or practically any other British car of the era simply by the location of the instrument cluster. Almost all British cars of the day had the clusters positioned in the center of the dash so that they could place the steering wheel on either side of the car.
