Is this a decent old vise? Looks familiar, but I can't make out the name in the photo. CL seller is asking $100, but I think more like $50.

Looks to be in pretty good shape. No major issues I can see. Biggest thing is there is nothing for scale. Am I looking at a 3" or a 6" vise? Hyperbole, I know, but without knowing the size, pricing may be too much to too little. Looks similar to the Reed I have, but mine has raised letters on both sides.

Any idea as to model number? I didn't see any vises with the diagonal writing in my initial Google search.

Edit: maybe a model 22x

Pend: i'm not a Parker expert, but as you might know I've seen a few. I don't see the crack that Meatsis sees, but that guy has seen maybe more big vises than anybody here on GJ and the bigger ones are the ones that usually have the cracks from previous users beating on them with a BFH like they were an anvil.

I think the gap in the lower parts of the jaws would bother me because Parker jaw pins I hear are a PITA to get in and out. also if a jaw needs to be replace be ready to shell out more than a few bucks to have some made.

my 2+ cents and good luck

Thanks for catching the crack, meatsis. The seller confirmed by txt that it was indeed a crack, so I am going to pass. I know cast iron can sometimes be welded, but not by me.

Drives, good point on the jaw replacement issue.

Thanks, y'all!
