ID Vise and rough value

This is a large pipe vise. I can't make out the brand, and the seller isn't very knowledgeable about it. Ask is $40. Any idea from the crappy picture if it's a cheap import or something that might be of some use. Thanks.

I have seen import vises like that in service for years. I have seen a thread about the USA OG that was cloned. But my google skills are lacking : (

The original is a Sawyer Nutyp, the rest are copies. Some work well, some are ****. Most are imports. Olympia is a frequent sorta legit looking import. Mine is a Diamond from somewhere in China. I’m into it for $10. If it ever fails, I won’t be heartbroken. Of course, that would require putting it into service first.

Yes, when a person needs a vise, anything is better than nothing, get it for under their asking price, then beat the living **** out of it, just not using a sledgehammer if you can. Chinese at best but better than nothing, till one day when you find a heavy old piece of American iron.

There's a rusty but very similar looking unit on local CL right now for $90 and one with pipe jaws for $100

(* full disclosure: local Craigslist prices on bench vises are grossly inflated - like everything else around here.)

Like others have said, just a cheap generic vise. Nothing special about it. I have one like it and because of the tilt & rotate functions, I find it more useful than more standard looking vises.
