I picked this 15" Wilton drill press up off of Craigslist yesterday for $25. It works, but after a fashion, You've got to turn it on and spin the spindle on the motor to get it to turn. I don't know if its just gummed up from sitting for years or if there is something more wrong with the motor, like the capacitor start. I have not torn into it yet. Any thoughts would be welcomed.
I'm also looking for a model number and perhaps a manual. The motor is 3/4 HP and can be wired for 220 or 110v. It has a cast iron head and is quite heavy. It comes from Wilton's Schiller Park days. I'm thinking the 70s. I've see a couple of similar on google images, but they don't list the model number. Its belt driven and has the two spindles. It's definitely not a gear head model.
Sorry for the pictures being upside down and backwards. They look right when I upload them, but it seems their orientation has been changed.
Thanks.
