It is hard to see "down Low" the lower portion of the sides of a vehicle when painting. What I did was mount a 2 tube florescents vertically mounted, attached to 1/2 pipe affixed into base of old office chair (5 wheeler.) That way, can position it to provide most effect. Also need proper length extension cord. My barn is so drafty, do not have to worry about fumes.
This is, of course, in addition to the overhead lighting.

I have done that but simply lay the fixture on the floor. Most booth setups need a room, a divider between it and the rest of the building, makes it possible to heat it.

4 legged shop stools make great light holders. Just shove a 4' florescent light through the legs and let it rest on the rungs of the stool. Then park the stools all around the vehicle, plug them in, and paint.

When I painted our booths had florencent lights mounted vertically every four feet or so.

However when i'm working on anything down low I use a halogen light like shown in sberry's last photo.

When I'm painting I try to reduce as much clutter around me as I can. Nothing like being in a suit and full mask and tripping over random stuff all over.
