ideas for a wooden tool cabinet

I have enough rolling tool boxes. What I am thinking is building a wooden upright cabinet. One for woodworking tools and acc. and one for metal working and air tools. it would be substantial built and on heavy duty castor wheels. With diamond plate on the doors to help elimnate some of the dirty hand prints. Most of the pre fab cabinets look somewhat flimsy. Any ideas or pic are appreciated.

3/4" cabinet grade plywood and the Kreg Jig that thing is great. I built some cabinets for a friend out of melamine board with wood face trim they were sturdy as well.

Not quite what you are describing but maybe the below pictures will give you some ideas. I built this cabinet from a beam taken out of an old barn. Resawing 100 year old wood was a neat experience as it revealed some nice flecks and rays in addition to character created by old worm and nail holes. I mostly use it for drill and router bit storage plus some hand tools and misc. shop tools/tooling. The cabinet is 5" deep, 48" wide, and 30" tall. There is no plywood, has raised panel doors and a ship-lap back.

Here is one I built for my woodworking tools. The case is 3/4" plywood with box joints. Finished with Walnut oil. Outside doors use piano hinges.

I have repurposed three kitchen cabinets in my shop. One is the grinding/welding station as is the white one and the other is in limbo right now and will be moved into another part of the shop.
A little bit of reinforcing and these guys are sturdy.

this one has a 3/8th's steel plate top on it now. Has taken a lot of abuse for three years.

The top is 1/4" plate and has served the purpose. It rolls around to wherever it's needed...
