Ideas for gear storage truck bed

Ok I currently have a toolbox (tractor supply brand) on my truck. Baseball season is coming up and I carry a few 5 gallon buckets with baseballs, T's, bats, and a helmet. I would rather not have to constantly remove the gear. Need some ideas on possible truck boxes. My current toolbox is full and will not fit a 5 gallon bucket depth wise. Also need it where it cannot be stolen. Job boxes look like the best solution but are quite expensive.

Thanks

Why can't you just use a locking bed cover? Seems like there should be a short version where you could add from a toolbox back. Toolbox is behind cab? Side access?

The type at the link are not deep enough for a 5 gallon bucket

Thanks for the ideas all

The buckets are handy since you can sit on when putting balls on a T and also when cleaning the balls up from the field after hitting.

Your trying to use a truck to do a Minivans job. You need the "Truck of the Year" Honda Ridgeline!

Have you considered a 2017 Honda Ridgeline?

How about a 55 gallon drum with a removable lid and ring to hold it on? Buckets and bats fit in fine. It's water tight and east to set in and out as needed.

That's an extremely good idea, and one that is used worldwide in all the wonderful places that don't have American pickup trucks with big chrome boxes. I can't begin to count how many times I've seen (and even used) drums chained, strapped, or permanently attached to beds, trailers, and even in trunks.

Pretty much lasts forever, too.

How about a deeper tool box? I have seen them that go all the way down to the floor of the bed.

Great Idea......but, I really love the offering from the dodge Ram bed boxes

They take up space above the wheel wells and Honestly dont really reduce the useability of the bed. The honda compartment is cool but what happens when you need to access the box when you have a load of lumber?

Could you build a plywood box that bolted in to the bed, mostly just the top and middle, truck bed and sides and gate would make the other walls?

I coached travel league fast pitch softball for 14 years.
I have tried all sort of truck bed storage gimmicks and just went with the shell when I got tired of messing with the others.
I could have the entire teams gears bags along with equipment in the locked and covered bed between games/fields/rainshowers.

Just worked better for me and the team over the years.

That's my plan on my next truck (2020 Silverado). For now don't really want to dump a bunch of money in my 2010. Especially since I have the short bed and I plan on the standard bed next go around.

I found a nice job box at lowes. Gonna look at it Friday. 55 gallon drum is a good idea but it won't fit it all. I have two buckets one is 20" tall and the other 15". Two tees my sons bat bag with 2 bats and a helmet. Plus I can throw my softball bag in it also for now.

Bought the shell for $150, fixed some dinks and donks, bought some O'rielleys paint and shot her in my garage.

I love at Ram cargo management system. Comes with a lot more than those boxes, but they alone are worth the price of entry.

Picked this up. Should work great and in the offseason I can neatly store it all in the shed
