i am wanting to mount a 30 gallon service truck style gas air compressor into a little 3.5x5 trailer. compressor is of course heavy, and the floor is a sheet of steel, so some what sturdy. what i can't figure out is the best way to bolt it down? i wouldn't think bolting it straight down wouldn't do very good? it needs some vibration damping i would think. my only thought so far was to maybe use a 2x6 width wise under the feet on each end with the comprsssor long ways. mount it to the board then mount the board to the trailer, or through the feet and board and trailer? I was thinking this would spread out the weight, and might dampen some vibration? anybody have any expierence with bolting these things down? or any thoughts how to do this? the trailer is the old style carry-on 3.5x5 with solid steel floor, and the compressor is a northstar from northern tool. I have never done this and i want to get it right the first time.
