I am getting closer to finishing the inside of my pole building. It is 40x50x16. I have white steel on the ceiling. I want to go with white steel on the walls but hate the way it gets beat up the bottom few feet. I would like to find something else to use for the bottom 4' or so. Any suggestions what to use? I thought about osb but don't like the look of it.

Guess I'm no help...........

To be a little helpful, you could use plywood, some type of wainscoting, a heavier gauge galvanized steel, or heck, how about diamond plate.

My shop walls are painted OSB. It helps with noise and makes mounting things easier.

About to do the same to mine, and planning on doing a 42" steel wainscot around the bottom.. That way if any of the panels get dinged up too badly, they are super easy to replace.

But watching this thread for more ideas!

Was going to suggest the same thing. I have OSB in my shop and, while it's not the most attractive surface, the endless options for mounting stuff makes it very nice.
Inside my wife's building we also put up OSB for the same reason, but she gave it a coat of paint. Hers looks way nicer than mine. Painting is definitely the way to go.

I have 8' of OSB painted white and 8' of white tin above. I wanted the ease of putting stuff on the walls. I have about 36'' of work bench and tool boxes with shelf above.

My shop has OSB....but I built it in 2011. OSB then was something like $6 per sheet. I just checked the price locally and it's $54 per sheet. Dry wall is $11 per sheet.

I was planning to do a corrugated tin wainscoting but never got around to it.

Mine is drywall. Already done when I bought the place. I don't do anything in there that splashes water or dirt around so it's been holding up fine.
If I had done it myself it probably would have been done differently.
