Ideas for tool/parts management working on a creeper

Hey y’all started a new job working at a agco dealership! I’m used to working on vehicles on a hoist haha! My question beside a moving dolly is their a decent stainless steel or good plastic bin available at creeper height to keep tools and parts up off the floor and out from under the creeper? I’m imagining something 18x18” to 2’x2’ with a 2-3” deep tub basically 4 swivel castors needs to be able to hold at least 150 pounds. Thanks

When I did heavy truck/equipment work I'd use a second creeper often just for that. One of the inexpensive bolt together tool carts with just the casters and bottom tray could work out decent for tools. A bit long maybe. Not sure of anything directly off the shelf otherwise.

thanks not exactly seeing anything and not sure what exactly to search for!! Haha was hoping for ideas! Another creeper could work or I can create something perhaps a old shop vac cut down in height even!

Harbor Freight has one that sounds about what you are looking for except the weight capacity.

I've had it a few years and it's held up well to light garage use here, I wouldn't use it to roll a transmission or truck brake drums around, but it works great for tools and hardware.

I just grabbed it last weekend at Harbor Freight while looking for items under $20 to use my 30% off coupon on. Haven't used it yet, but looks suited for the job. I like that it has a metal plate on it too for sticking a magnet based light on (as shown) or a magnetic parts dish, etc.

Get a movers dolly at HF, attach a sheet pan to it.

Other than that build your own out of some scrap wood, buy better casters and add a stainless top. This way it fits your exact needs.

Not an exact solution, nor designed to be a tool creeper, but Summit Racings lowrider hotrod wagon might offer some inspiration. I often work on rough terrain and something like this would be handy.

I have been looking for something similar for what you are referring to, and that harbor freight tool creeper is as close as i have seen. now i wish someone would make it hydraulic like a creeper seat/stool, or adjustable slide to go from engine height to floor height that would be awesome!

Some very good ideas the harbour freight thing looks pretty good! Have to figure out how to get one to kanucistan though that one from kegs is pretty slick to!

I've seen a creeper with what looked like an oven tray with shallow sides attached, then smaller trays like Schallers thrown inside. The other half was empty for putting bigger tools on.

This was in a beverage facility for working under certain machines. Don't know if it was a shared piece, or one guys personal design / use.

Tool creeper is the magic phrase!! I’m finding a few different styles now! Nothing near as cheap as the harbour freight one though I’ll check out our version “princess auto”

I've got the HF tool creeper also. I've been pretty happy with it. It's got a metal plate that I use to stick a magnetic back work light to. Don't know how well it would hold up to daily shop use but at home for DIY it's been great. Luckily I don't need to do much work under vehicles at work.

It's rare that I buy anything from HF without a coupon or that's not on "sale". This was gonna be one of those items. I needed to do some upcoming work on my truck so I was just gonna buy it at full price, for $15 I was more than happy to pay, still much cheaper than others. The Monday morning I was planning to go buy it, HF had emailed me a one time use 30% off under $20 coupon, talk about perfect timing. Got it for under $11., couldn't be happier than that!



I've so got a smaller one that's steel. I really like this one too for it's size when I don't need so many tools out. Has fold down handles so you can carry it with one hand when stuff is on it. This one I got from California Car Cover. They're local to me so I went & picked it up. Unfortuantely I got the last one they had as they told me it was discontinued. Not sure if that means if just they weren't carrying it anymore or if the manufacturer stopped making them. At the time when I searched I couldn't find anyone else selling it.



It came with acorn nuts on top which would have been perfectly fine but stoopid me can never leave well enough alone & swapped them out for button heads.

Tool creeper. You won’t want big because youlll be fighting for space with your creeper, and then also dealing with jacks and drain pans at the same time as well.

You could always get a bucket dolley and cut down a 5 gallon bucket to the correct height.
