Hi all,

I have a garage/workshop which I want to make much more nice and easy to use. I have two Milwaukee tool cabinets and a chest on top of one of them which I want to incorporate.

As you can see below it is pretty messy at the moment(not living at the address where the garage is at the moment).

Instead of the door which is fitted in the end of it at the moment, I am thinking of adding carriage doors instead with windows fitted to get more light in.

I am thinking that tool cabinets, shelves should be on one of the sidewalls and then maybe table down at the end of it. So one sidewall is kept free.

For the floor I am thinking of epoxy coated floor, presently I am having concrete floor.

Hope some of you guys might have a similar size garage which you have refurbished or maybe can give me some ideas :)

Are you going to try to park in there?

Carriage doors just seem hard to seal to me. More like a barn door that's more of a moveable flashing. Although I have seen some nice ones built. If you don't want to park a car why not frame the opening smaller and put in some nice French doors in a set. As always there is some security risk of showing the world what you have inside.

Also along the lines of lighting, I would actually want some electrified lights. Hard to get it all done like they did c.1840. ;) The last picture does show some light but does it beam in thru a window in the sidewall?

Fixed: I will be using it mainly for woodwork and so. As I will need to refurbish the entire house myself or at least a lot of it.

Matt_I: No I will not be parking in the garage/workshop, but it would of course be nice to drive in the car in case of bad weather, but car should not remain there.

For the door it is not the biggest priority at the moment, but it is something I need to get done. I found these(see the white one) and have asked the manufacturer if they could add windows to it(our house is from 1935 so it would fit pretty good in with the style):

There is not that much lights in the garage/workshop. I am thinking of adding some new LED lights. I will not add any lights to the front of the garage, as I will do that on the side of the house instead.
