Hopefully the sight of this press generates some additional information... I've looked pretty deep into the interwebs and found nothing on it. I've pictured some "landmark" details that may ID a Manufacturer.

I have some damage that I'd like to contrast with how it use to be...hopefully I can replicate it or at least the function... one side of the prawl assembly is broke off. I'm delaying the breakdown/refurb till I get the repair figured out. I believe it'll be far easier to do the fab with the unit together...somewhat.

General info: Saved from the metal recycler today but no Mfgr name....

21 in tall, 7in throat, 14in L base, HEAVY AS HELL!

I've got a prawl that is broke off that I have to figure out...it's also seized up. JOY!

Any assist/info is appreciated.

Nice find! I didn't know they were selling scrap from the Titanic, lol :D

I'm going to guess Greenerd because of the round ram but typically their name would be cast into the press column.

I didn't see the broken part you are talking about (?) the ratcheting pawl seems to be double supported and I didn't see any cracks in those nor the casting its made from...that would be my main concern. If the pawl itself is cracked, etc, I would not hesitate to make one from mild-steel as a replacement. Basic oversize flat bar, file, saw, and grind to shape.

Personally I like Kroil for a penetrant, but I'd spray it down to wet every day for a month before I tried beating on anything. It does take time to do its best work.

Matt_i : Thanks... I'll do a search for Greenerd… Heck someone may have ground it off...who knows. It's been around a while for sure. The damage is old by how the brak is rusted (a guess) here's better pics.

My old Tools: Yep, electrolysis or I may just breakdown and put into my cabinet blaster...leaning that way at the moment.
