Identify Delta Grinder Attachment?

Hi guys,

I’m picking up this 1940s Delta grinder this weekend. Just curious, what’s the attachment on the left side used for? I came across a real similar one on an old Baldor grinder, but can’t find anything on what it’s for.

Looks like a support for the work piece.

Actually, I might have solved this one. It looks like part of an edge tool grinding attachment, but it's missing most of the parts. I dug ups this picture of a Baldor unit:

Looks to be the support plate for the 1294 Plane Blade grinding attachment. Also appears to have been modified as well.

I don’t know Delta, but it looks like a jig to hold a wider blade, and allow it to slide across the wheel, and keep a consistent angle.

I noticed that it looked like someone ground each of the sides for some reason.

I'll probably search for an original tool rest to replace that attachment. Hope they aren't too hard to find!
