Hello everyone. I am new here and need to tap into this vast knowledge.
A friend just gave me a Dewalt 18v cordless hammerdrill and the model sticker is missing. I want to get a set of brushes for it and need to identify the model. Anyone have any idea how to accomplish this?
Now I will try to attach a pic. Hope it works.
Thank you.

On the other side is a label that lists the model number. It is likely "DW" something or other.

What makes you think it needs brushes?
That looks in good enough shape that I'm thinking that the brushes are still good

Thank you. I pulled up the breakdown for the DC988 and it looks the same. It was smoking when it was given to me. I tore it down, surfaced the armature and brushes. It works like a champ now but the brushes are getting a little on the small side. They don't need replaced now but will in the future. That depends on how hard I use it.

+3 on the dc988...a good drill. I've only had battery issues personally.
