I can't say records for sure, although I think some did look close to that. If you look close at "good" tools vs import you see a lot of copying of the good tools. Look how many no name pear head ratchets look very simaliar to a SO with their handle design.
Seems to be an English style, but with that logo and the handle ends nearly disappearing, I wonder if it's Turkish or Indian.
This maker has those: http://kanca.com.tr/Default.asp?Sec...=2&CategoryID=6&GroupID=14&CatName=Fortissimo
That'd be handy on my bench.Member Monte says they are - here at post 33: http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?p=398406&highlight=kanca#post398406Are the KANCAs any good? Or Turkey trashola? As far as form, I like the look, but do not know where the function lies. I especially like the ANVILLO!That'd be handy on my bench.
I only stated the handle ends look like some of the current model Kancas, not the whole vise.It looks exactly like a chinese made Allied, so it is not probably 40 years old. Does not looks like a Turkish vise at all, not even close.
If you want to spend $150 on a vise in phoenix, there's a much nicer columbian on CL. One that looks really familiar to one I've seen on here, somewhere. I doubt the vise in question is 83 lbs or 40 years old, or worth more than 1/10 of $150.
Edit: well, I went looking for the columbian to link to it, and it seems its gone now.
