Hey forum friends! I need help identifying this horizontal band saw. Its missing the original motor and there are no name plates anywhere. The capacity is approx 8" x 12". The arm raises and lowers via a hydraulic pump and it has a hydraulic vise. I picked this up at an auction this summer for $180 and am just finally getting around to play with it.

If I had to guess, I'd say Kalamazoo, but I'm not sure on that. I don't really see any distinguishing features that are unique to any company I'm familiar with. The control panel resembles some Do-All saws I've used, but the blade guide adjusters and vise seem very Kalamazoo to me. The saw is a top loader, so that does narrow it down some.

The handwheel on the blade tensioner kind of looks like W.F. Wells, but the vise doesn't. W.F. Wells uses a buttress thread with an open nut.

Final answer(s) Do-All or Kalamazoo would be my guesses. If you can find a serial no. on it that might help narrow it down.

So, really, I haven't helped you at all lol.

Thanks Dr_clyde. I spent hours looking thru google images and agree with your assessment. I can't find any numbers or stampings on the machine but I will keep looking.

I am trying to repower this saw and I am thinking a 1 or 1 1/2hp 1750rpm motor and haven't started to determine the pulley size yet. Any other thoughts would be appreciated.

The only bolt I have messed with is the bleeder on the vise cylinder and it was 7mm. More info is that the gearbox is a Boston Gear 300 series. - should have included that in my first post.
