So I have this 1/2" breaker bar inherited from my grandfathers massive tool collection. The important part seems to have been ground off, likely by accident but could have been intentional.. no idea.

But since the folks here are pretty damn savvy with hand tools I'm hoping someone can help ID this guy. I've already been able to request warranty replacements on a couple things there were super old like this likely is, mainly Craftsman. I've like to do the same to this.
To me I think the name is in the group d off section, the end appears to be an ‘O’.

Googling

"5467" professional breaker bar

Will bring up a proto as the first result

So an update, due to not being able to understand fully their warranty process I emailed custom service and asked how it worked.
Got a fairly immediate reply, and my email was forwarded to the “warranty” group.
Three weeks later with no response I emailed back to let them know I was still waiting.
About four days later Eduardo responded, I was to ship it to a Stanley address and if deemed a warranty they’d replace it.
I responded again asking what the anticipated turn around time is, and if it’d be returned to me if they decided they would not replace it.

It was my grandfathers so I mentioned that. He responded a last time informing me that in all cases the one sent in would not be returned.

Then my guy, Big E made an offer: would I accept a new one as a courtesy and keep my old, broken one?

******* A right I will!

Overall, I wouldn’t go buy Proto simply because I find the warranty process less appealing than say Craftsman, SnapOn or anyone else with a lifetime replacement.
But Eduardo, wherever you are, you’re my guy.

If it's worth it to you to spend 2-3X as much for a Snap On breaker bar vs Proto for an extremely rare warranty chance, then definitely buy Snap On. That tool was obviously abused, because there's no way the fork was bent like that without a long pipe used on it; we all know that. Because of that, it should not have been warrantied. I know there's a "I managed to break it, you owe me a new one" crowd here that will disagree, but those people should only buy from a tool truck and pay the 2-3X premium.

Lol, hell no. I can’t afford SnapOn and if zi could zi wouldn’t buy it at the premium they want. But Craftsman? I warranted a 3/8 ratchet that was probably as old as I am. No questions.

To be honest I don’t recall what I was doing when that fork snapped. Cheater pipe? Possibly. I will say that I feel like I didn’t abuse it more than I should be able to handle.

I’m not in that crowd you speak of either.

I don't think I could ever warranty a tool that I knowingly broke via abuse, no matter how much I paid for it. And certainly not if it was given to me.
