usually the name is on the latch plate.
looks to be weiser or kwickset to me.

Good point. The latch plate reads Schlage. The lock is on the front door of my new house. I'm interested in smart locks (at least Wifi audit trail), so was curious whether I should keep this one or invest in a new one.

Schlage went to court with Kwickset and lost the right to the "smart lock". I would replace. Schlage IMO makes a better lock but if you need to replace with same it might be a problem finding parts.

I was going to say I am pretty sure its a Schlage. Thumb or card reader type. Either way if you keep it get it reprogramed.

my grandparents had one of these you could program a code theirs was 4 digit. The outside of the lock that black screen would read 1-9. You would turn the handle to go to numbers.

Well, there's a deadbolted security door in front of this door along with the same door having an additional deadbolt, so what's the harm in reinstating it? It looks to be quite old, however... who knows if it works.
