10 inch, 1/2'' drive extension. Made in USA. Part number ends with 00-10 (the 10 in reference to length).
Thanks.

I'm going to say SK due to the double lines, font and way it's marked, but I'm not 100% sure.

Opps, wasn't fast enough...

I'm trying to find the other piece so I can solve this mystery.
KD maybe? Proto? Anybody have any ideas on the part number? Or is it still an SK?

Oops. I did the same thing; I tried to warranty some Stanley extensions at Sears. Ohh well, we live and we learn. Try again.

Sk doesnt use dashes in their part numbers. Only extensions that I have with knurling AND double lines are ATD and made in Taiwan... plus no dashes in their part numbers either.

It sure looks like an SK to me. I have quite a few of them.

But, if you look on the SK website, none of the extensions have a dash in the part number
http://www.skhandtool.com/products/sockets-ratchets/SocketsCategoryTopLevel.aspx

So, my guess is that is was made by SK for a military or other contract. SK made lots of tools for other companies, JC Penny, for example. That would explain why it has a weird part number, but appears to be a piece manufactured by SK.

The dot before and after the USA screams SK to me

Not SK. Maybe made by SK for someone else. Knurled SK extensions aren't real old. the part number for sk 3/8 drive extensions start at 45159 for a 1.5 inch extension and go up to 45149 for a 35 inch 3/8 drive extension. Those part number are from a 2002 SK catalog.

There is a dot before, but not after. I could take another pic, I guess.

At this point I'm interested in identifying it, not too concerned about the warranty; I have another 10" extension.

i agree with fed. i have seen some sk contract production and i would bet that is what it is. a few years ago a traveling tool show had extensions and ratchets that were obviously sk but marked as something else. the name escapes me now. sk also made tools for klein in that same vintage. it could be a klein extension.

just poopped in my head, js was stamped on them. does that ring a bell with anyone? someone bought some stampings from the factory and i think they were marked js.

I bought an SK contract production ratchet that was only marked "JS USA", so I've seen them, too.

Interesting.. I would have said it was SK as well. We have a bunch of old SK stuff at home, and our extensions look pretty damn close to that

i found pictures that look very similar when googling, but they either had no knurling, or different spot or size knurling. the closest shape match, with the rings and profile on the female end seem to be older snap on and williams, but i cant find one with such a small knurling and in that same spot. i can not find a SK that looks similar.

NAPA used to sell USA stuff. i have been trying to think of old companies that made something similar.

someone on this forum has one of these sitting in their box. i guarantee it!

im thinking its snap on or williams of some sort. i searched and searched, and found similar, but not identical. the knurling is very specific, and not like any i can find anywhere.

back 20 years ago, there were many USA store branded tools.
