today was trash pickup day and i found this in one of my neighbors trash
so I picked it up. There is only a logo cast into the sides of the jack.

So what is wrong with it, the 3rd picture the release will not tighten at all just spins. other than that it appears to be good. Haven't taken it apart yet so don't know just what that valve is or if it is replaceable. Also what is the small knob shown in picture 4

That design is used in many of the import aluminum racing jacks, for some reason Larin comes to mind in regards to that emblem.... As far as the release, take it out and check the threads, could be a stripped thread issue > Aluminum.

I hope to add to this thread. Some one please let me know if there is a better place to put this.

My Dad gave me the Ringueberg & Van De Mark jack below. It was made in Lockport, NY and work wonderfully, however it is missing the linkage at the handle pivot point that should control the release lever. As it is now I have to reach down and move the lever by hand. Love this jack. The length is perfect for reaching axle centers on 50's cars.

Thanks, Jerry
