Identify this tool

Found this in my great grand fathers tools handed down to me. I have no idea what it is. I have seen similar items called dog bones. Anyone know what this is? All bits on it are square.

Tool for removing threaded "plugs" , such as in a 9" Ford pumpkin?

Oh ok.. I forgot about the square holed bungs.. (lol I said square holed bungs)

Going off of what 1969 said I did a quick google search and found this

pretty similar to what you have except for the Hex. I'd say he's right.
