Is there a thread for this already? Couldn't find one searching. Anyway, got these with an estate sale auction lot the other day and was wondering what they were before they go in the scrap metal pile. I can't think of any good use for them, but maybe I'm missing something.

Might save some of the metal here for bearing race pressing, jack plates or something, but what is it?

Yeah, the third image is adjustable top plates for jack posts.

Awesome, thanks guys. Never seen that style ladder jack before and doesn't fit my newer ladders but does fit an old aluminum one I have with round rungs (and probably wood ones it was made for) so guess I'm keeping it.

Got a pretty unique jack too, with some accessories. Sort of a large bottle/small farm, with a bunch of accessories, maybe I'll post a pic tomorrow. Owner of this estate had an amazing collection of tools and other stuff, was hoping to meet him as sometimes they're just liquidating to move into a condo but he passed on years ago and his wife just did as well. Some of his stuff will live on though!

BTW: You usually need at least two ladder jacks (and two ladders) to use them.

Yea, I work construction. Have a set of the newer style ones and a bunch of ladders already.

Here's that jack I was talking about. Worker at the estate sale called it a post jack, although no hits searching that. Can think of a few times the hook attachments might come in handy. Always good to have a range of lifting options too, got 2'-4' covered now.

No tag on it but same paint color and construction details as an antique Hein-Werner

That looks exactly like an old one of my father's. It had a rigid hook that ratcheted up and down on the teeth that you see there.
