Identify this unknown tool?

Had a guy send me this picture asking if I knew what it was. Obviously I don't.

I don't think it's a tool. Looks architectural. Only tool I ever saw looked anything like it is the tongs glassblowers use to compress a cylindar.
Why would anyone put ornamental twisted fluting on the three straight sections? Can't tell from the photo, but maybe they are hollow tubes? The elbows make me think it is part of a pendant gas lamp. The weird tong-like feet might hold a globe.
Or part of a huge clock.

Yes I agree. I passed on a nice set of fireplace tools once because I can't see using tongs that aren't scissor like because that's all I've ever used.

Funny story but I was at the Libby glass demonstration this week and I could not get close enough to see the tools...

I also vote architectural in nature maybe a lightning rod design?????
If tongs then those are some big *** tongs???

Agreed since the ends of the two arms are different color than the middle of the arms like its been exposed to high heat.
