If it is a rock island would it be worth $75?

Depends on local availability and how much you want it. If it is in good shape, doesn't have any cracks its not a bad deal. I'm assuming it is a 4" vise as well. See if you can get him down to $60.

No way to tell how wide as there is no frame of reference, but based on the size of the handle, I don't think it's any bigger than a 3 or 3-1/2... :dunno:

The email that he sent me:
'The jaw size is 4 1/2 inches wide. The base is 8 inches wide. The handle is 12 inches long. When closed it is 19 inches long, it opens up to 10 inches and more. It is a General Motors vice, we didn't have junk tools.....Everything heavy duty....Thank you....'

I'm assuming that the guy worked for General Motors and the vice isn't a 'General Motors' brand. Looks like the jaws are held on by two screws in the face. I'll see if I can get more form him. Thanks for the help.
