:confused:the lock says 701 is it possible this is harbor freight. i ordered a key online but was too thick to go in the lock. i am wondering if it is u s general harbor freight. the rolling cabinet is the one that is locked. this is pic of the tool box that sits on top. i got this metal toolbox combo from my cousin. her late husband owned and she can't find the key. i hate to ruin lock to open it. there are tools inside.

That's a pretty generic lock setup, just take a drill to it then go to your local locksmith and they should have or can get a you like keyed replacement set.

Buy a replacement cam lock. Measure from behind the head to the end of the tail. Looks like 5/8” or 7/8”.

Very easy lock to pick. Buy a cheap lock picking set and you can add that to the tools in the box once you open it. You might find that it will get more use than you think.

I know this is an old thread but one of the guys misplaced his key to a US General service cart, he was about to drill the lock.
I stepped in and removed the pin in the piano hinge in about 30 seconds, locks keep honest people honest.

I don’t think that is a Harbor Freight box as they use a bolt on the back of their locks and not screws like this one has. I’ve never seen one with a screw holding the piece on.

Y11 keys are very widely used. Any locksmith will have it, ask for a CH701. I may even have a spare on my garage or work keys. I'll look on Monday.
