Identify vice grip?

My uncle gave me this vice grip when I was about 12 to get a stuck nut off my bike. It has worked great and I've always wondered who made it. Theres no visible markings on it except for "Made In the USA"

I'd suspect that was an early Peterson VG.

Also looks alot like an old Craftsman visegrip that I have.

Early Peterson Vise Grips did not have the easy release lever like modern ones. I have rebadged Vise Grips marked Proto, P&C and Blackhawk.
