I just saw this Quincy on FB marketplace. It's in west, central Illinois.

I have no affialtion, it's not mine. It's too far away, and I'm afraid of a divorce
if I bring home another project before finishing an existing...

I've asked for more photos and information, hopefully the seller is cooperative.

Who knows what the top of the head looks like. To me, from the photo, we can tell it's
two cylinder, two stage. What's weird to me, the cylinder casting is round . Traditionally,
they're squared off. Have you ever seen round cylinder castings on a two cylinder Quincy ???

The other unusual thing, to me, is the front crank cover.
This one doesn't look like any I can reference. I can figure out it's an oil pump, but it's not the usual configuration.

Lot's of other clues it's old. Cast iron end caps on the motor. Is it repulsion ? Interesting oil filter? Pressure switch has a metal enclosure.

Just curious,
Steve

So the seller provided some new pictures. I'm even more confused.
It looks like it's actually a Curtiss compressor pump. I thought the
compressor company spelled their name Curtis , with one s. From the
ID tag, I'm not finding a model number. Curtiss ID tag.jpg

That looks like a plant ID inventory tag, or a sales tag from the factory’s preferred equipment supplier.

We’d call it an asset tag.
