Identifying help!!

I bought these 2 things this weekend and as a beginning collector need a bit of help. Any one help identifying these 2 ...do they go together? Year they may be from etc. Thanks!

Yes they go together they are for making flared fitting like on brake lines and older water lines. They still make them. Rich

the bottom pic. is the tool that smashes the tubing to make the flare. It should just slide on the beam of the other piece.

They are both pieces to a set for flaring tubing such as brake lines. You're missing a few pieces...

Yes, they go together. That is a Flairing Tool, used to flair out the ends of tubing to connect two pieces together or to connect the tube to a junction. It's used for fuel lines, brake lines, oil lines for a furnace, etc.

You need the different size dies that go into the tubing.

It's just a 45 deg. tube flaring kit. No brake lines are flared with this tool !

You need the different size dies that go into the tubing.

Only for double or bubble flares. He's got everything needed for single flares, such as would be used for copper fuel oil lines.
