Hello everybody,
I am George from Woolwich Twp., New Jersey. I need some help with my garage door. To make a long story short, I bought a Dalton iDrive in 2003 and worked fine for many years, with some adjustments and problems. 3 months ago I had enough and bought a Sears Belt-driven Craftsman Model 139.5318D with a back up battery. The Sears tech said to leave the iDrive in place and use the existing tensioners to help open the door. It worked fine until about 2 weeks ago. I pushed the button to open the door and heard this loud bang and the door went up about 18 inches and stopped. I pushed again and made a horrible noise and slammed down. That was it, everytime I tried to open, the belt would tried to open the door but would bend the bar. I stopped trying. I called Sears with no results. I am wondering whether I can replace the i-drive all together with a set of tensioner springs or maybe something else.
