I'm sure most of the members on this site have seen this box before. I am a huge fan of the 7100. I wish snap on would still offer something similar today.
My next thought is that it seems the design of tool boxes is leading more to the buy the roll cab and bolt sh1t to it design. My guess is to get more money out of the consumer and be able to offer, "variety". Either way if you build boxes to your heart's content off the truck they can easily hit the 20 grand mark.
My proposal would be to offer a modern 7100 and a double 7100 that is like the 4 bay where it looks like two 2 bays welded together. For the double the hutch would be connected over the two haves though for pry bar storage, and what not. Two long drawers more towards the center of the box. And a pull out work surface being able to support 300 lbs.
My question would be if they offered something like the double 7100, what would your price point be if you bought it off the truck?
Mine personally would be 12 in today's market.
