I though it wold be fun if you would show your Favorite Snap-on tools or promotional items that you have collected. Please post several if you want.

So far, mine is a set of recently acquired NOS Green files.

Here are the items that do not live in my toolbox. The ratchet is my grandfathers FV71 and a socket that I found in his toolbox. He got it when he was in the airforce. I wear the watch every day, i like it!

Here's my Snap-On chess set. I gather that these were a promo gift to top Snap-On sales people. My guess is this is a second or Silver level award. It has a thin metal clad board and the pieces are regular chrome on one side and black chrome for the other. There is an example of the other chess set currently on ebay with the nice wood board and chrome and gold pieces.

All of these:

From a functional standpoint, I love these crimpers!
IMG_1255.jpg

It is a love hate with most on those crimpers. I absolutly love them. I only have to take one tool in the car with me. I know another guy that HATES them because of where the cutter is placed. This one of those Snap On tools that are worth every penny. Oh and nice Ohio Bell sticker. Blast from the past

My two favorites are both in storage right now, but I'll leave this post to hold their spot.

Display Snap-On Torque Wrench & case
It's cutaway so you can see the internals. I don't know why, I just always really thought that this was cool!

Display hand cleaner can with hand!
The hand has a remote control and rotates the middle finger when you turn it on. This is always worth a laugh!

That is the most complete black hard handle snap on tools in the world. Congrats!

Did you take a ratcheting screwdriver shank and shove it into a regular hard handle? If so that's pretty trick. I'm glad you like my collection. Lol. I know there are people on here with more but most of them have a lot of duplicates.

Actually, I don't like your collection. I FKN LOVE IT! I have all my snap on screwdrivers in black hard handle. I have a set of orange tools when I working under the hood. But my favorite color is RED. Since Snap on doesn't make a basic magnetic tip screwdriver anymore, I decided to make one. I used the one that I had extra, cause if I order it from SO, will be like 20 or more, just the shank. I made some others for my friends using green and orange handles and a cheap (USA) magnetic bit holder. I like to build my own tools.

What is that about 10 grand in black
Hard handle?

Nooooooo!!!!! I only bought a little off the truck. Most are from trading with people, swap meets, yard sales, eBay and other auction sites, CL. I've been collecting for a while. Im going to say maybe 700.00 in the set give or take a little. It took me 5 years to put this set together.

That was part of my set yes. Had someone hack my account and stole my auction and relist it as hid own with a buy it now. Real big mess. Needless to say the winning bid was bogus.

It's easy. I buy auctions that have big lots for cheap, take what I want sell the rest. Just bought a 12 pc misc. Lot that I only took 4 things I did not have, for 84.00 free shipping. Put the rest back on eBay. Made 8 separate auctions an made 120.00 on them. So my 4 items where free and made money on the rest. You be surprised I often I do that. Also I try to find cheap by it now's and reflip for profit. Auction for 11 pc black handle Torx set. It was a regular 9 pc set with extra T-6 and T-7. I wanted T-6 and T-7 (very hard to find) buy it now 130.00 with free shipping. Took my two, sold the 9 pc set on eBay for 150.00. Again my two free and made 20.00 bucks on them. Sometimes I break even. But that's how I do it. I set a limit on what I'm willing to pay if I win that's great if not find another one. I know about what I can make or at least break even. Also 5 years when I started black was cheap and there was plenty of it. Mow I did pay some big bucks on some rarer items, again I set a limit and if it goes over I'm out.

Ok that makes a little more sense. I don't buy many tools to flip so it didn't occur to me to factor in profits. I have bought/built and sold a few homes so I suppose by that logic my tools have cost me -$40-50,000 in the past few years lol. But yes, I get where the total came from now.

One thing I noticed in that badass black handle collection that I haven't seen before and would like to have is the black handle air chuck, both of them.

Never seen them before, I'll be on the look out now.

Mm

You cn buy them both from Snap-on yet. That's one exception where I bought off the truck. Prices where higher on eBay for USED ones than new on the truck

What was the hardest thing to find?

The harder ones to find off the top of my head are:
SDDP123 long shank #3 screwdriver (new)
24 inch ratcheting screwdriver (new)
SDD42 with pouch and the 4 shanks (new)
Most of my stubbys. (I have 11 of them)
SDD104 stubby flat tip with 3 1/2 inch handle (new)
SDDP234 stubby Phillips head with 4 inch handle (new)
My metric nut driver set. It is now a 7 pc set but for a few years it was 12 pc set. 4mm to 14mm set also has 5.5mm (all new condition)
5 pc tamper proof Torx set. (new)
Pocket Phillips and flat head screwdrivers with clip (new) phillips was really hard to find.
T-6 T-7 Torx I have the only two I ever seen. Didn't know they made them. Til I found them on eBay. There is a T-9 but don't have one yet.

I'm sure there's more. And some of them you can find easy but it was hard to find a cheap price.

I saw that auction ended at $ 5.500! There are many scammers and hackers on eBay.
And I do the same, sometimes I buy a tool that interests me and if this cheap, why not? Then, when I got it, don't like as much as the picture and re list it.

BTW: The auction still in the eBay system,I don't know why. I thought they keep the pictures for about 3 months, but this one is from November 2011. WTF!
