Depending on what the store stocked, Flood Penetrol, B-I-N sealer or Evaporust. No interest in their tools anymore other than painting tools.

Sounds like you don't have a specific need or want so I would walk in and wander.

I could use that, I could use that, ohhhhh I've been thinking about that put the other thing back.

Just depends on the store. I got a $50 True Value gift card for Christmas. Ended up with a set of DeWalt e-torx sockets from one store and a Stanley padlock and hasp from another.

The first thing I would check for at ACE is old stock Craftsman pliers made by Western Forge.

Been there, done that.... I know where’s there’s one pair of the Duckbill pliers #91643, but nothing else. Was looking for slip joint and 6” long nose.

Watch the Ads and wait for something I want, discounted. Ace had a sale on Milwaukee Packout half organizers in December, never seen those discounted. Ace has sales on dewalt right angle flex adapters. Irwin Quick clamps, etc. Just watch the ads and don't feel the need to spend it right away.

Stays in my wallet until I need it. I own a 90 year old duplex and my tenant is my M.I.L., so...…. I tend to NOT spend on things I want.....

My local Ace nickles and dimes me on hardware twice a weekend. So hardware. But they carry Craftsman if you are into that. Their prices on things like powertools and other materials are too high to bother burning that 50 on. Too much wasted when you can pop on down to Menards or some other larger supply store.

Another thing you can find at ACE sometimes is their house brand padlocks. They're solid locks with cores that are much harder to pick than any Master brand product.

My local Ace carries some decent tools -- Channel Locks, Vise Grips, Craftsman, etc.. Not the best brands, but if you don't have a tool in a certain category it's better to have a cheaper version than none at all.

If you don't need any tools, I'd get consumables like LED light bulbs, charcoal for the grille, lawn mower consumables like filters/blade/2 stroke oil, motor oil for your cars, etc.. Rechargeable batteries.

Also they have hardware by the pound, so you can stock up.

Welllllllllll, seeing as my local Ace store has a wonderful gun selection and now a new addition of a great gunsmith, $50.00 isn't going to go far, but could be a great down payment!!!!

Ah, that brings back memories of the local Service Star hardware. My first deer gun came from there when I was 11 or so.

But as to $50 and Ace; new extension cord.
