ignition control board interchangeability

I have a ~5 year old Dornback 45k. I think I've jumpered everything out to be able to determine that the control board is bad. http://www.hamiltonhomeproducts.com/p/242/gh-1035-ignition-module-for-dgh

I am having a hard time paying 200+ after tax and shipping for a new one when I can get a whole new furnace for less than 2x that.

I see some "universal" ignition control boards on Amazon for instance that I think will work. Curious if anyone can confirm my thoughts. Thanks in advance.

Not sure what the issue is, but those hot surface igniters are a pain in the ***. Has that been replaced?

It has, twice

I jumpered all the safety systems for testing and the valve and nothing is apparent from the blink codes either. the light just goes out and comes back on in a second with the furnace shut down. it will restart if I unplug it for a minute or two.

Does that mean it has been replaced twice in 5 years (3 units)?

Do you need to replace it again?

If I am reading your unit cost figures correctly, buy a new unit (pretty inexpensive!) and save the old unit for parts.

It has I'm on my third ignitor (not control board, just the hot surface ignitor) and I switched to the rod type. The ignitors are less expensive but still were 60+ if I recall.

im always dubious about swapping a different flame supervision device /igniter in than standard ,can also upset insurance co if something goes wrong
