Wow, I thought I was hoarding them, but I've only got 4 pair. It ***** when you don't want any more but you stumble across a Snap On pair for dirt. What's a man supposed to do?
I really like these, I have a half dozen pair, use them all the time. Some of the most useful pliers made. Especially on guns, which is a large part of what I use tools for.
Years ago I kept a boat at a small marina where the mechanic always kept a mini channellock in his pocket. It seemed that he could completely rebuild an outboard engine with a screw driver and his channellock. He convinced me, ever since then I keep one in my tool box.
I just bought (not really ignition pliers) a set of Wilde 6" pliers to keep in the tail bag of my sport bike. I bought their 6" diagonals, needle nose, and slip joint pump pliers.. I was comparing the small pump pliers to the comparable channellock I have (Wilde does make groove locks in this size, but I was curious about the slip joints). I gotta say the Wilde pliers are pretty nice. The jaws are a lot more aggressive, include a shear at the rear of the teeth, and the handles are thicker and more comfortable. They seem more like a tool then a toy like the channellocks do.
OP you have a very bad problem it would seem you are very sick, best way to cure yourself is to send the excess pliers my way, that way nobody will ever question why you have so many in the first place!
Tell me more. I don't have any but if there's something they are really great at I might go for some. When I was building up my precision pliers I kept going back and forth whether to get some, still haven't yet.
I have 5 smaller and 3 bigger still want some of the even bigger. I keep finding them for cheap and can't pass it up I got 100 screwdrivers but yet I keep buying I want some wera ones and some of those Marco or Napa ones. He'll I'll buy whatever I find as long as it's German or USA I also keep buying sockets I got 1000 it seems. The tools I got would last me the rest of my life don't get me started on 1/2" sockets or wrenched omg I get 5 a week my wife says I got a problem but at my local pawn shop you can spend 5 bucks and fill a box to the brim I get 20 pounds at a time I need a bigger box or another perio . I got tools still in the plastic bags no where to put them I'm still hunting. It's an addiction tools are.
