Hey Heelsroll, SCScout driver, Bindernut, and the rest of you...
There is a blacksmith show at the same fairgrounds as my fall flea market in Troy, Ohio, this weekend. I found a small vise for sale there, cheaply priced, which I thought you MIGHT find interesting.
It's really little, but I have not seen one labeled as a "Scout" before. And I note it says, "USA" too. Best of all...read the price tag!!
But it has a flaw. There is a crack through the back section, in the area which is forged to look like an anvil.
I would say it could easily be welded, but of course it would not likely be as strong as original...or as attractive. But, IF it is uncommon, and IF you think it would look good on your workbench, then I would be happy to buy it for you and ship it for cost. It's really small, and should be light.

I will be back at the show Sunday AM, and if that vendor is still there, and if that vise is still there, and if any one of you wants it for the $5 price tag plus shipping, I'll buy it and get it in a UPS shipment for you.
