Last week I was at the International Harvester Redpower Roundup in Albert Lea MN. I happened to pick up a couple IH tool cabinets. The blue one is made by Kennedy. The red one says "Made in USA" and appears to have been made in 1981 according to some markings inside. Anyone have any idea who made the red box for IH?

Right now I am in the process of repairing a couple minor dings and doing some clean-up. (I found 2 IH hoseclamps in a drawer!) Next step will be to make some drawer liners and load them up with tools.

The red ones has the same handles as my Dayton box if that helps on the ID.

I need to get a picture of the rollaway I have. My grandfather bought it in the 40s I believe and it doesn't have any badge, just a sticker on the side that says "International Harvester" and it was made in Canada.

Scott, Nice snag at RPRU. I didn't even get into the swap meet area. Enjoyed the show and glad to see you got something to remember it by. Will we be seeing those boxes full of IH tools at Huron SD for RPRU 2014? Hint Hint.

Very nice, I like both of them a lot, especially the Kennedy. But that red doesn't appear to be quite IH red... :D

Tasty...I'd love to have IH branded boxes. Unfortunately my grandfather had his IH stuff and cabinets stolen out of his shed years ago...about 30 years worth of IH tool accumulation.

I did end up with his 1010, though. Only 55,000 miles, but pretty much needs a complete restore...other relatives "took care" of it first. :) Looks good next to my Scout II, though.

I am looking into motel rooms already for Huron.

It was very nice meeting you at RPRU. Look forward to seeing you in Huron.

I was curious if anyone else made it out to the RPRU... I went on Saturday so things were pretty wet, but it was a good show.

I got to the show on the Sunday before the show was open to the public (I was readying tractors for the auction). It rained at least a little bit everyday except Thursday.

The drawers and pulls look like my 1970's waterloo cabinets.
I was at the RPRU on Friday, beautiful day not a drop of rain.
Long haul from Michigan.

My Dad worked at the Farmall Plant in Rock Island and brought home his toolbox when they closed the Plant. It appears to be the same mfg as the red one in your picture and it has a mfg tag that says "Rock Island Press Works".

Do you have any pictures you could post??

By the way, welcome to the Garage Journal!

I will give it a try...I am not familiar with this site, but I stumbled on it through a link by super scout specialists. Might take me a day or two to get it...

The Scout sites must really like this place since I found my way here on a link from one of them too. :)
