I know they're pretty cheap but has anybody had any MIT tools? (michigan Industrial tools?) IIT stands for Illinois Industrial tools which i think are pretty cheapo tools. But i was at a liquidators today and the Tektron MIT ratcheting wrenches were pretty good. The only thing i bought though was $4 mesh tool box liner for $4, tons of spray paint for 25 cents a can.

I have actually have a MIT truck/guy that passes by my shop. I have a MIT 3/8 rat, a back up for a back up of a back up. They are cheap, cheaper that the old sears companion line-look similar too. They are not worth the money, even though this guy warranties them. Whenever he stops buy I just buy a box of gloves.

i have a set of mit chrome open end/closed end wrenches from 10mm to 32mm. they are the back up set in my home box. My bonneys are the go to home set. Work is snap-on and gedores.

Believe it or not, they are not total ****. i picked them up used w/ some other tools off a kid quitting the trade. I mostly wanted them for the bigger sized wenches. i have no clue what they cost new. i may have 20 into them used tops and im happy.

I've got a set of deep 1/2" drive impact sockets from MIT. I've been using 'em for years without a problem.

My sockets don't have any COO stamping on them. Only says MIT Chrome Vanadium.

I bought a couple of there tools a long time ago from a local hardware store, they were in a mixed table of all different tools. Only bought them because the price was cheap and it was in the begining of my tool buying days. Everything I bought ended up being extremely cheaply made and pretty sure I don't have much of anything I bought left anymore. Personally I would rather buy HF stuff I think.

Retool carries their Tekton brand hand tools. They seem nice, I do not own any, I noticed the made in China was very well hidden.

Older MIT tools were made in Japan, and are pretty good.

I had a 1/2 MIT breaker bar for a while. It was actually of pretty decent quality.

About 8 years ago I needed a larger set of channellock style pliers than what I had. They needed to open up and grip a 6 inch pipe. I was broke and the new discount store down the street had some orange handled MIT ones for well under $8. I bought them to do one job. 8 years later I still use them 6-7 times a week without fail. They aint pretty but the teeth have never dulled, the joint has never slipped and the handles have never bent.

MIT and ITT are pretty much comparable quality to Harbor Freight, (maybe slightly cheaper) based on the ones I've seen and used.
