Saw in the local ad for ikea their Presidents Day sale with shelving kit for $9.99 which is cheap! Nothing fancy and 77lb per shelf. Only downside is they are only 12" deep and limit of 2 per person. Still....

The shelves are definitely for utility use. The shelves look to be grade C, with plenty of knots both sound and unsound. The uprights have fewer knots, but aren't completely knot free, so are probably grade B. This isn't like knotty pine, with decorative knots. It's like pallet wood, whatever happens to be cut.

They are worth $10, but not the $30 regular price. I was planning on buying two, but the local Ikea ran out just as I got there.

They're a decent piece of furniture. I moved into a place where the previous tenant had left them behind. They're not bad for light garage storage. As the above poster stated, they're worth $10, but not $30. For $30, build your own.

Their furniture is kinda of crappy , but for temp stuff or things you don't use much its ok.

I like alot of their storage units and misc accessories .

Its like the harbor freight of furniture lol

The wood is reclaimed, made out of scrap pieces then dovetailed together and glued. It may not look as pretty as virgin wood, but it's actually quite strong.

The design, however, is flimsy. That isn't anything a good GJ member can't fix though. :)

Garage use? No, I woudln't even consider it. For a shed, closet, kid's room, or laundry room? No problem.

I didn't closely examine the uprights. Perhaps they were finger-jointed (AKA "comb jointed", but not "dovetailed").

The ones I saw in the store had definitely had shelf slats that had lots of knots, but not so many that they had comb-jointing together a pile of rejected knotty sections.

Splined or finger jointed is correct. Dovetail is not. Thanks for the catch.

aww damn I missed out. 4 of these would have been perfect for my junk wall. I couldn't build anything near these for $10.
