I’ve been looking for some tool storage for quite sometime, the Us general boxes just don’t do it for me. The Used market is silly right now and not being able to put hands Tekton 30” boxes aided in my decision.

I was in my nearest HF today fondling the HF Is general 72” box, trying to convince myself it would be OK. I decided to go and look at the Icon boxes again and the store manager came over and offered to Help with any questions. Obviously everything has some lead time built into the delivery date, after some checking on the computer both boxes where 4-6 weeks out in most colors. I explained to the manager that I was leaning towards the Icon, she then offered to take 10% off the price and since I had a HF credit card that had been collecting dust with the 10% Off promo still active I ended up with 20% off.

I decided to go ahead and pull the trigger, I ordered the 73” in Blue and added the side cabinet. If anyone Is on the fence, the manager said she would extend the 10% off for any future purchases. I suspect that deal can be had at all HF stores, it came up as a “promo” purchase on my receipt.

I’ll post up when it gets delivered.

hf managers have a lot of authority on pricing and can toss promos around fairly easily so it may not be actual policy but

The market is very interesting these days, and I am sure the manufacturer who can get stuff made sell it instantly!

My "guess" is that the ICON was designed by someone who knows what they are doing, and if HF was smart they would price them very competitively, which means you should be getting a great deal!

Congrats! Very nice boxes. I was pretty close to getting one but the short drawer layout kind of turned me off to them after looking in person. Ended up getting a 56" US General instead. I'm happy with it but after loading it up I think the shorter but more numerous drawers in the ICON would have been better. Too late now

I like to keep my money here in the USA, waiting on my 73" Snap-On. Was going to buy a Proto 68" but I was told 12 weeks.

Nothing wrong with that, but I’m going to pick my battles, rest assured there is plenty of $$$ being put in American workers jobs (including mine) getting that 900lb box from A to B to the Customer.

What model of box did you get?

so what are in store prices currently starting at on the icon boxes ?

The 73” box is $2999 Delivered, Grab a HF credit card and utilize the instant 10% Off and find a store willing to give another 10% Presale discount and it’s like $2400 + tax OTD. I didn’t price the smaller models or splurge for the SS top.

At that price, I'd rather spend a couple grand more and get a Proto - cheaper than Snap-On, just as good quality, and made in the USA.

Well go ahead, it’s your money. I’ve seen the Proto boxes, I personally have a issue with “just as good quality” based off the feel test , even the Couple grand more in SO flavor (New) doesn’t do it for me.

There are several folks who run around and spam every thread with criticism if it's not a MiUSA whatever.
(INB4 they complain about all the HF homers, as if there's nothing in-between)

I'm sure you'll like the Icon box - it's a lot of value-for-money.

Must be nice to be able to just have thousands of dollars laying around to be able to say “well I’ll just toss a couple more grand at something solely to make myself feel better about where it comes from.”
